The loudspeaker rang out from Comms around 0900 this morning: a NASA DC-8 had just done a flyover, and had called them to ask if anyone on the ground had a camera handy to capture the shot. I scrambled out to Destination Alpha, zoomed in as best as I could, and got this one. Then realized I was standing outside wearing jeans, a lycra top and fluffy slippers in -87F windchill weather. Which, as we recall from yesterday’s little discourse, is pretty damned cold.
Out of context, it’s nothing special, but as a NASA flyover of the South Pole, I think it’s a fun shot.
may i be the first to thank you for your service to this great nation!
